BTJ Prayer Guide for Syria: Day 26

Business as Mission

Often times Christians focus on humanitarian work and preaching the Gospel. Those are both needed in Syria, but there is a third thing that Christians in Syria need as well – jobs!

Most businesses have fled Syria because the investment environment is not good, but BTJ has been starting businesses in restricted access nations for years and it is one of the things that make the ministry with the Chinese different.

BTJ uses business as a way to conduct missions among unreached people groups like those in Syria. Business as Mission (BAM) is a relatively new term but is based on Biblical concepts. Chinese have been starting new businesses in Syria for many years, so it is virtually impossible for the government to identify which ones are mission and which ones are not.

BTJ businesses are real companies that make a profit, but the one defining difference is, the BTJ businesses make efforts to help Muslims come to into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Business can be a unique way to help the Syrian people and can be a way to sustain ministries, ministers, and missionaries, so BTJ is launching several small businesses in the country.

Prayer

May the Lord move through the different businesses that are being set up by BTJ missionaries and local Christian believers that are partnered together with BTJ.

Scripture

Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning work- man, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

Exodus 35:35

Dr. Eugene Bach is a known trouble-maker with an active imagination and sinful past. He has a PhD, but is not a real doctor, so please do not call for him during a medical emergency on an airplane when someone is having a heart attack. Eugene started working for Back to Jerusalem in the year 2000 after a backroom deal involving Chinese spies, the NRA, Swiss bankers, and a small group of Apostolic Christians that only baptize in Jesus’ name. He spends most of his time in closed countries attempting to topple governments by proclaiming the name of Jesus and not taking showers. From time-to-time he pretends to be a writer. He is not good at it, but everyone around him tries to humor him.
