In symbolic solidarity against Israel, the red carpet was rolled out for the top leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the Palestinian Authority and Indonesia in Beijing today, as China called for an end to the war in Gaza.
There was one significant voice missing from the forum in Communist China: Israel.
China has been quick to denounce Israel’s sovereign right to defend herself and has yet to denounce the terrorist attack of October 7 that killed about 1,200 people. China has repeatedly taken a stand against the actions of Israel defending itself.
“China is a good friend and brother of Arab and Islamic countries,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said as he welcomed Muslim diplomats this week. “We have always firmly safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of Arab (and) Islamic countries and have always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people.”
China currently has one of the world’s largest militaries and one of the worlds largest economies. Unfortunately, their stand against Israel is growing more and more obvious on the world stage.
China made waves earlier this month when they removed the state of Israel from Chinese mapping services like Baidu.
