A Billion People Missing in China? Expert Makes Explosive Claim That China’s Population Could Be Far Lower Than Reported

China has been the most populated nation on earth for generations, or at least that is the common knowledge that everyone is taught. However, there are some discussions that are starting to challenge the CCP’s official population numbers.

In 2023, Beijing estimated their population to be 1.41 billion, but now there are questions over how that number is calculated as the country grapples with the twin challenges of dropping fertility rates from decades of a One Child Policy and an exploding number of senior citizens who seem to outnumber the number of young people.

On a recent Danny Jones podcast, Chinese dissident Lei reveals insider evidence that China’s real population is far lower than the government claims. Lei’s background is in finance and journalism and she explains how falsified birth data to hidden death rates has allowed the CCP to manipulate numbers for decades to project power, economic strength, and global influence.

Echoing Lei’s voice is Yi Fuxian, an obstetrician at University of Wisconsin-Madison who conducts demography research. He believes the censuses China carries out every 10 years are “seriously overestimated” in an effort to match official estimates.

Yi called the implications of inaccurate population reporting “hard to overstate.” “It means that China’s decades of population control policies are all wrong and that all of China’s economic, foreign, and defense policies, as well as those of the U.S. and other countries towards China, are based on faulty demographic data.”

For many years, the nation of Bhutan also lied about their population numbers to keep neighboring China and India from invading them.
