Dr. Wang Bingzhang is a Chinese Christian and pro-democracy advocate who has been in prison longer than any political prisoner in the last three decades.
Dr. Wang has spent most of the last 24 years in solitary confinement and his family is seriously concerned about his heath.
Dr. Wang was the first Chinese in history to earn a doctoral degree in North America after the opening up of China. He used his education to raise the awareness of the situation in Communist China before he was kidnapped by secret Chinese officials in Mong Cai, a city in Vietnam bordering China.
A group of men reportedly attacked him and forced him into a waiting van, which then transported him by boat to China. The Guangxi Public Security Bureau then took him into custody, and he was later charged with “offenses of espionage” and “the conduct of terrorist activities.” He was tried by the Intermediate People’s Court in Shenzhen, and sentenced to life imprisonment where he sits in solitary confinement today.
His trial only lasted for half a day, was closed to the public, and he was denied the right to due process or access to a lawyer.
Dr. Wang is currently 78 years old and his health is quickly deteriorating. His family is asking Christians to help by sending letters of encouragement and calls for freedom to his prison address.
Your words have the power to highlight Dr. Wang’s situation, amplify global pressure on China, and honor his resilient faith.

Dear brother-in-Christ!
I’m heartbroken over what the religious situation is in China and yet I rejoice because you will receive so many crowns and you will have run a good race and fought the good fight when you see JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR face-to-face!!! I know that GOD is with you at all times even though it might feel like He is not. Hold fast and cling to Him. make every opportunity to preach the Gospel and lead the guards in prison to the Cross! Nothing is in vain, dear brother-in-Christ, you will be worshipping our GOD and SAVIOR very soon for eternity. we love you and pray for you and your family. May the love of CHRIST surround you day and night. we love you with the brotherly love in CHRIST. May GOD be glorified through you and in these difficult trials. I will lift you up in prayers in my church too.
Your sister-in-Christ,
Oksana
