ANSWER TO PRAYER! China Does NOT Release Communist Translation of the Bible

In 2018, the Chinese government released a five year plan to re-translate the Bible with a socialist slant which would accommodate Communist Party ideology. The new translation of the Bible into Chinese would also incorporate Buddhist and Confucian teachings to alter Christian doctrines under the guidance of the “Sinicization of Christianity (2018-2022).”

However, Christians around the world did not sit idly by. Massive efforts have been made to raise awareness about Chinese efforts and it seems that China has backed down. For now.

Back to Jerusalem has been following the story closely and reporting it to all of our readers and supporters. The Chinese government and those who support the government have attempted to ‘gaslight’ those who have been sounding the alarm, but the pressure seems to have been too much.

It has been almost seven years since the government has announced their five year plan and no Bibles have been released and no translators have reported working on the project. Moreover, according to a Chinese website controlled by the government, the Communist Party has been forced to admit, “even if a new translation were created, it is unlikely to gain acceptance among Chinese Christians, who are deeply attached to the Chinese Union Version (CUV).”

All of the members of the underground house church that Back to Jerusalem works with only accept the Chinese Union Version. It is often likened to the King James version of the English Bible.

Praise the Lord, since the the plan to re-translate the Chinese Bible, no new Chinese Bible has been released by the government and it doesn’t seem any new version is coming out any time soon.

Our prayers seem to have been answered!
